Opium Noir
To ensure you enjoy the best experience and maximize the life of your candle, please follow these care guidelines:
Before Lighting:
Trim the Wick: Before each use, trim the wick to approximately 1/4 inch to prevent excessive smoke and uneven burning.
Remove Debris: Ensure there are no debris or wick trimmings in the wax as they can ignite and cause a fire hazard.While Burning:
Initial Burn: Allow your candle to burn for at least 2-3 hours during the initial lighting to create a full melt pool, which prevents tunneling and extends the candle's lifespan. Sometimes wax adhers to the wall of the container, this is not tunnelling and will melt away over time. If you do notice tunnelling, make sure the wick isn’t leaning to one side. If the wick is leaning, extingish the flame and straighten the wick for an even burn.
Keep Away from Drafts: Place your candle on a flat, heat-resistant surface away from drafts to ensure an even burn and prevent the flame from flickering excessively.
Avoid Overburning: Never leave your candle burning for more than 4 hours at a time. Excessive burning can cause the container to overheat and may result in cracking.
Frosting: Don't worry if you notice frosting (white spots) on your soy candle. This is a natural characteristic of soy wax and does not affect the candle's performance or fragrance.
Safety Guidelines:
Never Leave Unattended: Always keep your candle within sight and away from children, pets, or flammable materials.
Mindful Extinguishing: Extinguish your candle by gently blowing out the flame or using a candle snuffer. Avoid dipping the wick into the melted wax to prevent smoking.
Container Temperature: Be cautious when handling the candle jar, as it may become very hot during burning. Allow it to cool before moving or touching.
Refrain from Moving: Avoid moving your candle while it's lit or the wax is liquefied to prevent spills or accidents.
Final Burn: Discontinue burning your candle when there is approximately 1/2 inch of wax left to prevent heat damage to surfaces and ensure safety.Storage:
Cool and Dry Place: Store your candle in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight or heat sources to maintain its quality and fragrance.
Avoid Freezing: Soy wax can become brittle when exposed to freezing temperatures, so ensure your candle is stored in a climate-controlled environment.Additional Tips:
To enhance fragrance throw, consider burning your candle in a smaller room or space. Use a candle snuffer or lid to extinguish the flame to minimize smoke and scent disruption.
